You may be experiencing tension or restlessness, or simply want to explore how stress, thoughts and emotions show up in your body. You do not need to have a specific problem or symptom to benefit from body therapy.
On the Body Therapy page, you can read about stress, anxiety and restlessness, tension in the body, the menstrual cycle and hormonal changes, postnatal reactions, anger and boundaries, and your relationship with your body.
We begin with a short conversation in which you tell me what you are experiencing in your body and life right now. The session takes place on a treatment table, where you lie in your underwear with a blanket over you. I work with pressure, stretches and rocking movements, sometimes gently and sometimes more deeply, but always with respect for your boundaries and comfort.
You do not need to do anything special. It may feel good to eat something light beforehand and drink water. Come as you are, preferably in comfortable clothes. After the session, it can be helpful to give yourself some quiet time afterwards.
A session can sometimes bring up strong or overwhelming feelings. If that happens, we slow down and work with what is there at a pace that feels manageable. You are always welcome to speak up, ask for less pressure or take a pause. I make sure there is time at the end of the session for you to settle before you leave.
There is no fixed number of sessions that suits everyone. During your first session, I will advise you on the number of sessions and the time between them. We will follow up as we go.
Yes. I offer sessions during and after pregnancy and adapt them to your situation. Please tell me if you are pregnant or have recently given birth, and whether you have received relevant guidance from your midwife or doctor. Body therapy is not a substitute for medical assessment or treatment.
You do not need to be in pain or have a specific symptom to book a session.
